What inspires me? I had to ask myself this question prior to writing this blog, and I wouldn’t be lying if I said that no answer was inspiring enough to overcome writers block. And like that, I failed to write this blog until tonight, creating yet another procrastinated work-filled Sunday. But then it hit me: failure inspires me. Not in a pleasant way, or one I think is inspiring enough to merit practicing failure full time, but the results are hard to argue with.
I am lucky to be a fast learner, which couples nicely with my more oafish qualities that often lead to bumbles, failures, and missteps. Because of this, I have accepted that failure is part of the learning process, and can’t always be avoided as easily as I want. I have found that failures are common in life, but I wouldn’t be where I am in my life without failures, and the way they inspire me.
Each failure upsets me, and inspires me to get it right the next time. Maybe this isn’t the same type of uplifting inspiration that a motivational speech will give you, but it sure works for me. I feel inspired to improve myself almost every day, mostly because of failures throughout the day. If you find that you need inspiration more in your life, consider the inspiring power of failures.
